I’m always trying to find fun craft projects for my 7 year old to do. This one is a wool geode. Since he is into rocks, gems and crystal right now, I thought this was perfect. It turned out great!
What fun projects are you working on?
I love these new spices! They are the perfect balance.
I also got the special edition one called ” Pizza”.
OMG! It makes everything taste like pizza.
Go order some for yourself.
Are you using special spices that you love?
If so, share them with us.
My sister-in-law handmade this bracelet for me.
It is beautiful! I am so proud of her and her new business.
If you want one for yourself, check out her website.
Buy one as a gift and you will fall in love and want to order more.
Let’s support small businesses.
The story goes…once upon a time there were two boys named Sammy.
They made candy gingerbread houses.
Both of them thought they could eat the whole house.
They tried and tried.
As you can imagine, that did not happen.
Instead they had a great time trying.
We love making these every year!
What holiday traditions do you have?
This place is yummy!
The meat was juicy and the fries were full of creamy flavor.
Nothing on the menu is healthy, but you don’t go there for that.
You go for the comfort of a full on burger, their specialty fries and a nice cold craft beer.
Go visit them if your in the area…
I decided…I’m not getting any younger. So, I bought a scooter! Why not? It’s time to live a little. No more time to be cautious. Luckily I can only go a maximum of 45 mph. 🙂
When I bought my bike I knew what I wanted and what I was getting myself into. I’ve already changed the engine oil and gear oil. That was fun and invigorating! I’m a real motorcyclist now. LOL! Hopefully the weather (50degrees) won’t limit my riding. It’s Texas, I’m sure it’s going to be unpredictable and get into the 70’s (perfect temperature) again at some point.
What are you doing to live a little?
It was a perfect day!
Clear water, blue skies,
sand between the toes,
and relaxation at its finest.
There was no seaweed in sight,
just smooth sand and a calm sea.
How do you spend your weekends?
Here is a little note from the Universe to me. It provided that extra push today. I want to send thanks to the Universe!
No matter how hard you work, prepare, or calculate, Angela, the final ingredient necessary to leap hurdles and manifest dreams will always come down to a little spark of magic that no amount of physical maneuvering can ensure. While simply remembering that you’re not alone, can.
Flick my bic,
To receive you’re inspirational note from the universe too go here.
Nature is beautiful!
We have a cactus in the front of our house which
only blooms during a certain time of year (now) and
only for a short time. It amazes me how it gets more
and more buds every year. It’s like a human being who
grows and grows as they get older with every birthday.
The next day……
Bam! And there you go, I got to see the bloom.
It is a spectacular piece of nature. All the buds
turned into opened flowers. Bee heaven. Beautiful!
I just received this lovely sign from some very special people.
It encompasses every little bit about me and the way I see things while on this crazy adventure called life.
This is a perfect gift!
I am going to hang it up in my new office so I can see all of the little sayings on a daily.
If you had to pick one of these as a favorite which one would it be?
So, I made these buffalo burgers (actually they were smaller, more like sliders).
OMG! They turned out great even my 7 year old ate them.
I’m on this kick at the moment where we are not eating flour (bread).
I didn’t use bread, but it wasn’t bunless. Instead I used sweet potato. Yum!
• 4 sweet potatoes
• 1 purple onion
• 1 tomato
• Garlic cloves
• 1lb ground buffalo
• 60z tomato paste
• cumin, pepper, other favorite spices
Slice sweet potatoes, season, and bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees.
Brown chopped onion, shallots, tomato, and garlic.
Then add it to the buffalo, egg yolk, and tomato paste mixture.
Don’t forget to add the spices to the buffalo goodness.
Make patties and bake for 20 minutes.
Take out, put in the sweet potatoes and broil for 5 minutes. Done!
Make the buffalo patties with the sweet potato buns and add avocado slices with some spinach. Mmmm!!
So, my husband and I are going to Australia (Perth to be exact) for our friends birthday. Yay!
Question is…..If you have been, what is ONE thing you would recommend doing while there?
We only have a two days to really venture out.
I am always trying to learn something new and live my life to the fullest.
Being in the now and enjoying every bit of it.
What are you trying to learn at the moment?
Or what words of wisdom would you like to share with the world?
Every Friday morning I take the kids to our local donut shop.
It’s a sweet treat and they love it! We get donuts holes and jalapeño kolaches.
Yum! This morning we decided to change it up a bit and got donuts with sprinkles
What’s your weekly ritual?
I was craving pumpkin beer yesterday,
but they didn’t have the one I wanted so I decided to try something different.
So, I bought “Rogue Farms – Pumpkin Patch” beer.
It was really good and it doesn’t have any chemicals, additives or preservatives.
The Labyrinth was delicious too (brewed with licorice sticks and aged in oak barrels).
Now that’s my kind of beer. What are you drinking?
I made these last night and they turned out to be another winner. Try them!
Bacon is good with everything, right? LOL!
• Ground beef
• Garlic power
Mix all of your ingredients (except bacon), roll into balls, wrap bacon around each piece (use a toothpick to stick).
Bake at 400F for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and put a dab of pesto on it. Back in the oven for 5 more minutes.
We ate ours with a side of cauliflower mashed potatoes. Yum!
What new recipes are you conjuring up?
This was super delicious!
The kids said it was just as good as La Madeline.
Recipe: (serves 4)
• 4 roma tomatoes (take seeds out)
• Italian seasoning
• 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
• 6 spits of fresh basil leaves
You can add any veggies that you like to the list. Sometimes I add peas at the end.
Put all the ingredients in a blender and then cook on the stove for 15 minutes.
Don’t forget the cheese on toast to go with the soup. Yum!
Update: Ema Jones commented that she likes to add cottage cheese. That sounds even more delicious!
We were walking along the beach today and found this shell.
It is a type of deep sea squid called Spirula. Pretty amazing!
It’s the little things that amaze me all the time.
I love spending time at the beach.
My new favorite lunch spot in Houston.
Every sandwich on the menu is delicious,
but I love the veggie and goat cheese.
Their popcorn is really tasty too. I like the lemon flavor.
Check them out when you are in the Heights area.
Check them out here: http://houstonpanini.com
My son loves creating different objects with his legos and now his light up legos.
These legos are pretty cool. You can build cars, spaceships and all kinds of other things too.
I’m glad that my son still likes building stuff with his hands instead of playing on my iPad. 🙂
What is your child’s favorite toy, favorite thing to create or do?
If you want to know where to buy them go to Target or Walmart.
You can also go to their website at http://www.laserpegs.com
I love making agua’s frescas. Always fresh and delicious!
For this one I used good ole’ fashioned watermelon, oranges, mint, and lemons. That’s it!
Then I added some vodka to it. LOL!
What is your favorite refreshing fruit and do you have a recipe?
I have a lemonade recipe that I’ll be sharing soon.
We went to Canton, Texas for some relaxation and shopping.
Walked around the biggest flea market in the US.
Found lots of treasure! Enjoyed our family time, very special moments.
Great memories were made. Do you have a favorite Texas Hill Country spot?
